The Great River Tug Fest is an annual event held in August that features teams from Iowa and Illinois Quad Cities fighting in a huge tug-of-war across the Mississippi River between Port Byron, Illinois, and LeClaire, Iowa. On both sides of the river live bands perform, children's games, food, crafts, amusement rides, unique shops and more. Fireworks are also featured on Friday night.
